The online travel platform based in Gurugram, HapyEasyGo has closed $49.3 million in its Series B funding round led by big names such as Korea Investment Partners (KIP), Samsung Venture Investment Corporation (SVIC), and UOB Venture.
It will use the fresh fund to enhance its air ticket business and grow its hotel division in India.
HapyEasyGo is leveraging India's 13% CAGR growth in travel spending from $94 billion in 2018 to $136 billion by 2021 — online bookings will account 57% (24 billion) of the total booking.
Boris Zha founded HapyEasyGo in 2017 and has since amassed 10 million users on its online air ticket booking.
“The completion of this financing is an outstanding milestone for HappyEasyGo which would help us expand the scale of our operations, increase market share, and upgrade the existing products. By the end of December, we expect our hotel business to be running over 3000 bookings a day,” Zha, Founder and CEO, HappyEasyGo mentioned in a statement.
