Linux Pre Sales Engineer

Full Time

Description of position We are seeking a senior enterprise software pre-sales professional to help sell and implement and provide initial support for SUSE products in new and existing customers. You will be responsible for providing pre-sales services in the South West region of Australia, assisting the local territory managers (TMs) in their day-to-day sales interaction and activities with customers. You will be expected to become a trusted advisor on (SUSE) Linux, Software Define Infrastructure (SDI), Open Source, and related strategies and products in order to provide thought leadership within your region and market. Place in the organization This position reports into the Sales Director for the ANZ region and will be located in Melbourne. Key responsibilities • To assist territory managers (TMs) to achieve or exceed the regional sales quota target on a consistent basis. • To assist TMs to maintain a rolling pipeline of potential sales opportunities that is a multitude of the regional quota target. • To build SUSE’s image and reputation in targeted enterprise accounts and beyond. • To provide pre-sales support in providing proof of concepts and initial support in getting SUSE products installed, evaluated and distributed within customers. • Provide ongoing learning and self-training as to ensure that all SUSE products and services are well understood and covered from a technical perspective. • To understand the strengths and weaknesses of SUSE’s competitive products and to use these to maximum advantage to sell the SUSE solutions and deliver real value to customers. • To represent SUSE in a professional manner at all times and to ensure that the company’s interests are uppermost in all dealings and transactions. Role Measurables • Bookings (quota) performance against regional target. • Pre-sales effectiveness • Seamless working relationship with regional TMs Profile • 12+ years of pre-sales experience supporting enterprise software. • Minimum of 8 years in direct technical support of enterprise accounts. • Experience in presenting, supporting and providing proof of concept engagements to medium, large and very large enterprises in the assigned region. • Strong track record of pre-sales delivery in local market. • Strong experience with Linux, Software defined infrastructure (SDI) and related technologies required. • Experience in working with public cloud provider environments like Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud. • Excellent English skills both verbal and in writing, as well as the ability to relay technical concepts. • Self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision within a fast-growing organization. • A team player who is also able to work on his own when required. • A leverage-able network of accounts, preferably in the high end of the market is an advantage but not a necessity.

Sales Territory Manager

We are seeking a software sales professional to sell SUSE products into a set of new and existing, medium, large and very-large enterprise accounts. You will be responsible for the following regions namely: Tasmania, West and Southern Australia, which consists of current customers (clients), and help with related partners, and involved allocated alliances. You will be expected to become a trusted advisor on (SUSE) Linux, Openstack cloud, software define infrastructure and related strategies and products to these organizations as well as develop and maintain senior to executive-level relationships. You will be measured on your selling of subscriptions and services into your accounts through the appropriate channels: i.e. most sales will be fulfilled through our channel partners (distributors, resellers). Place in the organization This position reports into the Sales Director for the ANZ region and will be located in Melbourne (but not limited to) Key responsibilities • To achieve or exceed personal quota target on an ongoing basis. • To maintain a rolling pipeline of potential sales opportunities that is a multitude of the personal quota target. • To build SUSE’s image and reputation in targeted enterprise accounts and beyond. • To provide periodic, accurate and achievable forecasts on pipeline closing rate and future opportunities based on assigned territory. • To provide a detailed and structured account and opportunity plan for major deals. • To understand the strengths and weaknesses of the company’s competitors and to use these to maximum advantage to sell the SUSE solutions and deliver real value to customers. • To provide consistent and regular communication with other customer touching departments to ensure smooth operation. • Create best practice in business and contractual relationships within the targeted accounts. • To represent SUSE in a professional manner at all times and to ensure that the company’s interests are uppermost in all dealings and transactions. Field Marketing Manager Asia (Chinese Speaker)

As the Asia (ASEAN, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong) Field Marketing Manager, you will work to build, evangelize and execute on world-class demand creation and lead generation programs. This role will develop and execute an integrated marketing plan designed to meet or exceed the agreed marketing contribution to Asia pipeline goals. The Asia Field Marketing Manager will work closely with sales management, corporate marketing specialists, partner marketing, product marketing and other team members in a fast paced and rapidly growing market. Place in the organization: This position reports into the Head of APJ Marketing in Singapore. Responsibilities: • Work closely with Asia Sales management to develop a 6 monthly rolling field marketing strategy and plan that aligns with corporate and Asia sales goals and includes agreed and measurable targets and objectives • Design and successfully deliver field marketing programs and activities as part of the plan that leverage the full marketing mix including integrated multi-touch programs, channel and partner (including alliances) marketing, event marketing, direct marketing, and digital marketing. • Manage the follow up, nurturing and flow of marketing qualified leads to sales to meet marketing contribution targets and maximize the return on investment • Measure and analyse marketing program success and report on program metrics. • Provide monthly status updates against the agreed Asia marketing targets and objectives to Sales and Marketing Management • Maintain industry and organizational knowledge of products and services; identify and disseminate market trends to SUSE in support of demand generation. • Interact with various functional teams / business units to translate the overall business agenda for SUSE (this includes but is not limited to research and creation of innovative marketing tactics, plans, and content designed to increase brand awareness while promoting SUSE products and services and generating demand) • Successfully manage Asia marketing budget Requirements: • 5-8 years of marketing experience in enterprise IT • Experience in demand creation (online and offline), channel, alliances and field marketing • Proven ability to build strong relationships with sales management and sales persons • Integrated marketing program planning & execution experience • Experience with sales & marketing automation systems • Strong project management skills • Proven ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is extremely important • Strong team player with a positive attitude • Tech savviness and internet sophistication preferred with knowledge of (online) marketing channels including Search, SEO, SEA, Social, and Content Marketing. • Self-starter with proven ability to hit deadlines, work independently, multi-task while working on competing priorities. • Solid decision making/critical thinking, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for data-driven success are a must. • Language capability: Fluent English written & spoken required; functional Mandarin, Cantonese is an asset. • Travel 20% • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred

The Role As a Technical Support Engineer at SUSE your key duties and responsibilities will include: • Troubleshoot and resolve complex, critical and sensitive support issues both over the phone, electronically and occasionally on-site. • Collaborate efficiently with your Technical Support colleagues, both locally in Bangalore and globally across locations including Germany, Czechia, US and Singapore. • Engage with next level support, development and/or product management colleagues when necessary in order to resolve customer problems. • Recreate customer issues and, if needed, document solutions to known/common issues. • Learning and accumulating knowledge on new technologies, and act as a multiplier. • Availability to occasionally be on call after hours and on weekends. • Occasional travel to the support headquarters for training and mentoring. • Occasional travel to customer locations may be required in order to resolve technical issues.
