Singapore-based biotechnology startup Virdalis has secured $700,000 in pre-seed funding led by Wavemaker Impact.

The investment will enable Virdalis to scale its pilot production systems, expand the technical team, and pursue commercial agreements with feed manufacturers across Southeast Asia.

Virdalis specializes in developing protein ingredients derived from Wolffia globosa, commonly known as duckweed, for the global animal feed industry.

Current supply chains for feed protein are vulnerable to price volatility, geopolitical risks, and food security issues due to heavy reliance on imports from a few countries.
