The opportunity for you:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is an instrumental member of the People Operations team. This is a unique experience to help grow and shape a rapidly scaling startup solving real world problems. In particular, you have the opportunity to directly and tangibly impact our growth into a world class organization where everyone loves working. You will be responsible of the growth of our company as we scale from 65 to 150+ people and beyond in the coming year!
You also will have responsibilities that include sourcing candidates through various channels and ATS’s, planning interview and selection procedures, and hosting or participating in career events. To be successful in this role, you should be able to develop long-term recruiting strategies and nurture trusting relationships with potential hires.
Ultimately, you will create strong talent pipelines for our company’s current and future hiring needs. Coordinating with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and determining selection criteria.
The ideal candidate is excited to learn about our company’s hiring model and have a full understanding of social media, C.V. databases, professional networks, and knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems. You will work closely with the Hiring Managers of all the non-tech departments, so we expect a teammate with a positive, proactive attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
If you are someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced & challenging environment, then this is the role for you!
Who are you:
- You have experience in recruiting for a startup. You know the challenges of recruitment processes and are ready to tackle your next challenge!
- You speak both English & Spanish. For this particular role at Nuvocargo, switching between English & Spanish will be part of your daily activities.
- You find joy in excellence. You love doing things the right way and are always looking for both incremental and critical ways to improve your work, your team, and your processes.
- You are disciplined and organized. You have a proven ability to balance multiple priorities effectively & meet deadlines. Your best weapons are organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- You have empathy across cultures. Nuvocargo's culture lives at the intersection of Silicon Valley, the logistics industry, the US, and Latin America. You have the unique ability to communicate with teams from different work cultures and geographies and feel like this is the place where they will do their life's greatest work.
- You move with speed. You move incredibly fast, making decisions and overcoming obstacles with speed. You are nimble and help solve problems for your teams who are on the frontlines with decisiveness and empathy.
- You are both a great communicator and listener. You are great at synthesizing inputs from different sources; you speak and write clearly, concisely, and with a structure that gets everyone on the same page when things feel messy.
- You are low ego. Collaboration is your best method. You don’t care or remember who came up with the best idea. Sales leaders, carrier reps, operations reps, shippers, and carriers all love working with you because you make them all feel heard and you’re able to find a middle ground in dissenting opinions.
What you'll do in a typical week:
- Own the candidate’s full lifecycle for the open roles.
- Act as a consultant and strategize on different ways to hire the best talent.
- Create an inclusive hiring strategy to approach people from diverse backgrounds.
- Identify areas for improvement in our recruiting processes and offer solutions to deliver a world-class candidate experience.
- Be an ambassador of Nuvocargo's values and culture.
This will NOT be a good fit for you if:
- You struggle to make things happen. This role will require someone with a bias towards action who moves at the speed of high growth startups in executing financial and operations processes internally and with our customers.
- You are not organized or lack attention to detail. If you find that you're OK sending emails with typo's or get overwhelmed when juggling multiple responsibilities, this is probably not a good role for you. This role requires incredible attention to detail and organization.
What we offer:
A unique & fun culture at the intersection of the freight and technology industries as well as between the USA and Latin American work cultures. Above market salary and stock options to make you an owner and partner of the business. The opportunity to shape the foundations of a venture backed technology company aiming to modernize a trillion dollar industry. A chance to join the ground floor of a well-funded, fast-growing startup that is modernizing an industry critical to the global economy.
