RADAR’s mission is to revolutionize customer experience in retail through precise identification of inventory in the stores and distribution centers. Faster reads and better accuracy means we know where things are and when they move. This position is primarily a software engineering role focused on both design and implementation, but also part of a small team to specify and build custom hardware. The initial product is a networked cluster of embedded systems providing compute resources, wireless communication, video capture, and wired networking implemented on a custom hardware platform. An ideal candidate will have previous experience or an academic background in wireless communication systems, networking, computer architecture, and hardware devices.
Responsibilities
• This role has a broad scope from developing system-level Software connecting our sensor and cloud systems together, as well going deep into the driver level /embedded code.
• Collaborate with Product Management, review the Requirements and come up with the software design to be used.
• Profile existing software systems to characterize bottlenecks and propose engineering driven optimizations.
• Work with Program Management, drive the development of the modules all the way into Quality Engineering and ensure seamless deployment at our customer sites.
• Work with Cloud Engineering for sensor-cloud interface architecture including the data injection model.
• Work with hardware team and bring up new sensor hardware including the calibration routines for that specific hardware.
Qualifications
• BS, Engineering in Computer Science/Engineering or similar.
• Proficient in Linux operating system internals (inter process communication, socket programming, multi-threading, memory /CPU profiling), algorithms and data structures.
• Strong networking background, ability to administer and trouble-shoot vpn, switches, bridges.
• Python proficiency with ability to quickly prototypes code with existing libraries.
• C++ for real time systems is required.
• Familiarity with the networking stack of kernel is a plus.
• Experience of developing kernel driver codes is a plus.
• Familiarity with using existing Linux drivers for usb, camera is a plus.
• Familiar with one of the Linux build systems; Jenkins integration is a plus.
