Responsible for comprehensive risk and requirements management for development of the Wright electric drive train and propulsion system and eventually the Wright aircraft. Perform system-level analysis and collaborate cross-functionally to define KPPs and system-level project requirements and flow them down to subsystems. Establish requirements tracking using the DOORS software Lead development of an Integrated Master Schedule for the flight demonstration and product development phases of the program. Perform cost, schedule, technical and safety risk assessments with the team to develop a Risk Management Plan (RMP) for submission to NASA and to be used by the team in the technology and product development phases of the program. Serve as the requirements and risk management leader for the company.

Requirements: Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Operations Research, or Computer Science and typically 5 or more years' related work experience. Academic background, internship or work experience to include: Requirements tracking and analysis tools including DOORS and development of Key Performance Parameters (KPPs); Integrated Master Schedule development with Microsoft Project experience; Cost, schedule, technical and safety risk management for aerospace applications – familiarity with NASA Risk Handbook. Experience working in a cross-functional technology and product development team to manage risk and requirements. Successful completion of reference and background checks is required.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Minimum 5 years of actual professional experience is required
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Aircraft Propulsion Engineering is required; Master of Science is preferred
  • Must be proficient in DOORS
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Schedule and schedule risk analysis
  • Familiarity with Joint Analysis and Cost Simulation (JACS) and NASA tools/methods desired
  • Familiar electrical and propulsion system requirements development; aerospace experience a plus
  • Should be knowledgeable of manufacturing readiness practices and processes
  • Should be familiar with the full product-life cycle and be able to independently work toward project goals and deadlines
  • Will work directly with Sr. Engineers on assigned projects and coordinate with production leaders
  • Will contribute to government proposals for NASA, ARPA-e and other government agencies
  • Contribute to QA / QC
  • Full-time, permanent, direct-hire position.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Department of Defense (DoD) and other government facilities. Access to the facilities requires a background investigation by the U.S. Government.

This is an urgent need and we will be able to interview and hire during COVID-19.

Relocation:

This position is located in Albany, NY. Preference will be given to applicants in the Albany area or willing to relocate. Due to COVID-19, Wright will consider remote work for the present time.
