The Strategic Engagements role owns engaging with our largest Digital Native customers in South East Asia on strategic opportunities, delivering market-moving engagements predicated on exceptional customer business outcomes. They will use a consultative sales approach, resulting in a multi-dimensional business case demonstrating the distinctive business value of AWS, a strong founder and board-level customer commitment, and compelling commercials and delivery model.
The successful candidate has a deep experience in selling and delivering business outcomes with digital native and startups. Including deep engagement with eCommerce, ride sharing, FinTech, payments, travel and hospitality, gaming, media & entertainment. S/he speaks the language of C-level executives, board and founders on both the business and technology side. Able to quickly grasp the unique challenges of an start-ups, unicorns, deacorns regardless of industry, and can frame the distinctive value of AWS in the specific context of the customer. S/he understands the challenges of growth, finding talent building developer, analytics and data science teams, funding sources from a digital native context. S/he has a track record of successfully building strong strategic relationships with digital customers to deliver mutually beneficial revenue growth.
Roles & Responsibilities
-Create, mature, and close market moving opportunities with selected Digital Native customers
-Working backwards from customer business outcomes, create compelling multi-dimensional business cases demonstrating distinctive value provided by AWS, aligned with customer business strategy
-Leading a high performing cross-functional team of seasoned professionals
-Elevate conversations with customers to business level, become trusted advisor of C-level, board and founder stakeholders in business and technology domains
-Own, align, and orchestrate executive customer relationships within engagements
-Working in an ambiguous environment, translate desired customer business outcomes into concrete deliverables and commercial proposals
-Mobilize and orchestrate resources across AWS and it’s ecosystem to deliver compelling proposals
-Create win-win value propositions with relevant SIs, ISVs, and influencers
-Establish cadence and mechanisms to ensure proposal quality and timeliness
-Define sales strategy and drive engagements to closure
-Engage AWS account / field teams and partners to generate pipeline of strategic opportunities
-Own qualification of Strategic Pursuits and resource / budget allocation
-Own overall business goals of the Strategic Pursuits
-Escalate appropriately within AWS, partner, and customer organizations to close engagements
-Capture and share learnings and best practices within and outside ASEAN, build replicable IP & mechanism
-This position can be based in Singapore or Jakarta.
Basic Qualifications
-Proven track-record of impactful and meaningful engagements within ASEAN customers
-10+ years of experience in enterprise sales, consulting, business development, or other related fields
-Proven ability to earn trust of business executives, engaging on business value level
-Deep understanding of organizational (change) dynamics in digital native start-ups, unicorns deacorns
-Strong experience in business transformation / consulting programs, change and program management; and advising customer on people and process implications
-Strong technical acumen across web / mobile front ends, cloud, development tools and process, AIML, analytics.
-Experience in implementing projects that can span across eCommerce, eSports, Gaming, Online Streaming, Digital Marketing and Fintech. Able to rapidly grasp customer business strategy, and link them to distinctive value of AWS
-Accustomed to deciphering dynamics in complex decision making processes, read (and effectively address) unarticulated concerns that hold back commitment to change
-Exceptional analytical skills, strong financial and commercial acumen, ability to create compelling multi-dimensional business cases
-Able to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced, high growth organization
-Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively and deliver results across cross-functional, remote and virtual teams
-Willingness to travel - this is an APAC role
-A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must – this is a hands-on role
-Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field

-General management experience, or experience building / leading cross-functional teams
-Experience in a senior leadership position with a digital native business.
-Experience launching new products / features as business owner
-MBA or Master’s degree in finance or equivalent relevant business experience
