About us
Remix’s mission is to help build more livable cities. Our software helps city planners understand their communities and design transportation systems that serve them. We’ve partnered with over 325 cities across 18 countries on 4 continents — and we're continually seeking to grow our impact around the world.
Urban planning impacts everything from economic mobility to CO2 emissions, and our platform (demo) empowers local governments to transform their transit systems, reshape their streets, and implement new mobility options to better serve their communities.
About this role
We’re looking for software engineers to join one of our product engineering teams. You’ll work closely with our designers, product managers, and customers to understand user needs, and then build and iterate on technical solutions that address them. You'll work across the stack, using different technologies for different projects. You’ll also build and maintain our processes and tools, to keep our productivity and code quality high.
Our stack is mostly Typescript (with React, Redux, and Mapbox), Rails, Python, and Postgres/PostGIS. However, it's more important to us that you have experience with full-stack, user-centric development in general than with our specific technologies.
You'd be a good fit if:
- You have at least 2 years of professional software engineering experience
- You want to work at a mission-driven company
- You find value in talking to customers and addressing core customer needs
- You're collaborative, humble, empathetic, and value honest feedback
Nice-to-haves but not necessary:
- You have experience developing complex React applications
- You have experience with geospatial or mapping technologies
Backed by Sequoia Capital, Energy Impact Partners, and YC, Remix is scaling in order to serve the growing transportation technology needs of cities around the world. For more on our engineering values, look here. Read more about how our work is impacting customers here: https://remix.com/blog
We are committed to a workplace that reflects the community we serve. We especially encourage women, people of color, and others who are underrepresented in the tech industry to apply.
