Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the “modern data stack” for thousands of companies. We are looking for a talented, teamwork oriented software engineer to join our core platform team.
This team is tasked with evolving a high performance extract-load-transform data integration system that enables our engineering teams to correctly implement hundreds of data connectors with minimal maintenance effort. The role will challenge you to reason about relational semantics, powerful abstractions, data representation, and software performance.
A successful candidate will be humble to learn existing ground realities, start from first principles, help identify fresh perspectives and help the team make the most optimal design decisions. This candidate will be very hands-on on implementation tasks.
Outcomes/Responsibilities:
- Work on core features of the product
- Develop and maintain the data pipeline
- Contribute to feature enhancements and bug fixes
Competencies/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Software Engineering or Computer Science and from a reputed institution
- Strong coding, technical and problem-solving skills with 2 +years of professional experience writing Java based applications in production environment
- Experience in reliable distributed systems, with an emphasis on high-volume data management platform that operate under strict SLAs
- Write well-structured Java code following programming best practices
- Specify a software design to satisfy project requirements
- Expertise in working with popular Cloud platforms, Cloud-based APIs, databases
- Work well in a global team
- Can troubleshoot problems with existing code
