The Elpha team is dedicated to creating a digital space for women in tech to come together to accelerate our careers. We are looking for a software engineer to work across all parts of our core product.
You will be the first member of our engineering team and will report directly to our CEO (who is also a software engineer by training). In this role, you will have a huge impact on the product we build and the culture of our team. As the first hire on this team, you will have a lot of autonomy and room for career growth. This is a great role if you’re eager to learn a lot and have a high degree of ownership over the work you do.
In this role you will identify opportunities to improve the Elpha experience for our members across our mobile and web apps, and will build new features to drive user growth and engagement. You’ll be involved in all aspects of product development across our web app and (React) native app.
Our stack is React, React Native, Ruby on Rails and Postgres. We run on AWS.
What you’ll do:
- Develop products and features for our web and mobile apps.
- Collaborate with our marketing, design and community teams to implement growth experiments.
- Design and implement user experiences to add value for Elpha members and improve key business metrics.
- Work with our small team to ideate on and prioritize products and services to delight our members.
What we’re looking for:
- Proficiency in a dynamic programming language like Javascript or Ruby.
- Experience releasing code in a production environment.
- Experience across the stack developing web apps.
- Enthusiasm for our mission.
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking initiative.
Nice to have
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, React Native and/or React.
- Startup experience on an engineering team or as a technical founder.
If you aren’t sure whether you’re a fit for this role, please submit your resume anyway! We are excited to meet non-traditional candidates and folks early in their careers who are eager to grow.
