We are a Canadian Y-Combinator backed startup building the de-facto financial newspaper of the Internet. Our product is an investment research portal that uses our proprietary machine learning (NLP, Large Language Models) algorithms to automatically extract interesting information from financial documents and presents them to the user in an easily consumable fashion, thus tackling the problem of information overload. We have raised $1.5M in our seed round and our customer base include hedge funds with over $30B AUM. Our RegTech operations have included projects with Australian and Canadian securities regulators.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is passionate about our mission to promote corporate accountability through information transparency. This role will play a critical part in propelling our startup towards the growth stage.
Responsibilities:
Lead development of our customer-facing web portal.
Build new features like advanced search systems and real-time notifications
Scale our systems to accommodate exponential increases in data and users.
Develop our system architecture using best practices of system design
Develop a deep understanding of the problem domain
What you are:
At least 3 years [> 5 preferred] of experience building software systems
Experience building React, Node.js customer facing apps (non-negotiable)
Possess a solid understanding of scalability, performance, security and other non-functional attributes of systems.
Expert in CSS frameworks, Javascript (React, Node), SQL, CI/CD tools
Proficient in Python, database design
Experience with cloud environments like AWS
Resident of Canada
Preferred but not required:
Knowledge of MLOPS tools like Airflow, MLflow, Kubernetes
Experience with vector databases, containerization, ELK stack
