Senior Product Manager, Finance and Analytics

Position Summary:
The Senior Product Manager, Finance and Analytics is one of Finmark’s domain experts in financial planning, accounting, analytics, and reporting. This position is a member of the product management team and is responsible for ensuring that Finmark follows best practices and guidelines for accurate and consistent principles in the calculation and presentation of financial metrics and reports in the product. Precision in financial planning and analysis is essential to the success of the product and the company. The Senior Product Manager, Finance and Analytics will work closely with the founding team (CEO, CTO, and CPO) and with Product Managers, Designers, and Customer Success Managers to ensure that our product meets the needs of our customers – Founders/CEO’s and finance professionals. This individual must possess good communication skills, deep domain expertise, and a strong passion for accuracy and attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities:
Advises the founders and product team on best practices in financial planning and analysis, accounting principles - is one of the domain experts for finance and accounting at the company
Builds and maintains a master calculation models that is used to verify the accuracy of calculations in Finmark for the product area that they own
Acts as a resource for the CTO and engineering team, to continuously monitor and test the accuracy of the financial calculations in the platform as new features are introduced
Performs regular regression testing of the platform from a product and calculation perspective
Participates actively in product strategy and execution - is a vocal member of the the week-to-week requirements grooming process, and is also a driving force in long term product planning to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of of the platform
Drives strategic, long-term initiatives to enhance the product capabilities including, but not limited to, benchmarking, custom reporting, intelligent forecasting, and automation through AI/ML
Reviews and recommends best practices for incorporating complex financial models into the product to facilitate customer acquisition
Acts as an expert resource to assist customer-facing roles with building models, tackling level 3+ support needs, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience
Writes detailed, accurate specs for new features to enhance the product and win new customers
Reviews Jira tickets and designs of any feature that has a calculation and verifies the feature after development is complete
Position Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Finance and Accounting or MBA (or equivalent experience through 5+ years in financial planning and analysis functional roles)
Extensive experience in building and maintaining financial models for a commercial business
Understanding of how financial models are used to guide and influence business decisions
Must be a spreadsheet wizard, with the ability to analyze, manipulate and present financial models and concepts
Solid understanding of accounting principles including 3-statement models, accruals, amortization, depreciation, debt and equity financing, GAAP principles
Understanding of different revenue models including subscription, eCommerce, referral, service-based, etc. and how to effectively apply these revenue models in a financial projection
Previous experience in product management (or equivalent experience through 5+ years of experience in an organization focused on Product-led growth)
