Delphia is building the world's first investment strategy anyone can improve with their data. We select stocks to a portfolio by analyzing trends in the data and the market.

Delphia is a growing (44 people), multi-disciplinary team located in the heart of downtown Toronto and around major North American cities. We began in January 2018 and are graduates of Y Combinator and the Creative Destruction Lab. We’ve raised two rounds of funding and approximately $20 million to date.

About the role

At the heart of Delphia's vision is a product experience for seamlessly collecting, displaying and aggregating user data to power superior financial products, we call it the Data Archive. In order to get there, we must build accessible, simple and trust-enabling experiences in this area. As our customer base grows, displaying how aggregated user data can be applied to predict financial market movement and other predictions is the true power of the Data Collective. This will not be an easy challenge. We look to learn, experiment and build these new product flows and we need your expertise to move the vision forward.

What you'll be doing:

• Own the design-process and the direction around collecting and displaying user's data and data platform, making these experiences secure, seamless, and delightful.
• Partnering with Tech and Product Leadership, play active role in defining the long-term strategy for Portfolio dashboards and reporting, and lead the design on shorter-term experiments and iterations to reach that strategy
• Lead research initiatives by contributing to research questions and highlighting ways to validate and understanding assumptions and solution opportunities with our users
• Shape and define new opportunities to explore and build the solution for exploration
• Facilitate workshops with team to find opportunities to around discovery and solution alignment and convergence
• Active role in forwarding the design strategy with the Leadership, and helping to shape the direction of the Design System by making meaningful contributions

About you:

• 5-8 years of experience working with an in-house team at a customer facing product company (or equivalent)
• A portfolio of work that shows you areas of expertise. See our Portfolio Expectations here
• Experience leading design for a product area
• Experience designing for community experiences and delightful contribution and check-out experiences

Within 1 month, you will:

• Familiarize yourself with the product and the tools, process and Language of Design at Delphia
• Meet and build relationships with direct partners in development and product management, as well as other stakeholders
• Collaborate with Design Team members on your first project

Within 6 months, you will:

• You will have helped to bring opportunities of strategic focus to your team
• Helped to accelerate design experiments to validate assumptions and conceptualize solutions
• You will have had a direct hand in interviewing and speaking to users about the projects and experiences under your responsibility.
• Presented your work to various stakeholders
• Providing guidance and feedback through your own unique view-point, influencing and pushing the overall quality of the team forward

Within 12 months, you will:

• Start to become an expert in a given product area at Delphia
• Begin to see how all the pieces of the our experience fit into the larger strategic vision
• Gain ownership and directly interact with development and product leaders to shape the phases of our product
• Help to onboard new hires and make impacts to the design culture at Delphia
