About the role
Humanly is looking for software engineers with a diverse set of ideas and a versatile skill set. We need those with great leadership qualities that can manage project priorities in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, and can use their technical expertise to think innovatively and deliver high quality and reliable software.
As the first DevOps member of our engineering team you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based platform infrastructure, which includes a range of activities from managing Kubernetes and deploying database systems to implementing multi-region support. You will be in charge of our development pipeline for efficiently bringing code to production as well as contributing to internal tool development for operational efficiency.

What you'll do
- Continuously enhance the reliability, performance, and scalability of our infrastructure
- Collaborate with the rest of Engineering to prepare and deploy production-ready solutions with high security and reliability standards
- Automate continuous integration and deployment pipeline
- Shape our long-term strategy for DevOps tool development
- Drive system and process efficiency in capacity planning, configuration management, performance tuning, monitoring, and root cause analysis
- On-call support for critical systems
- Participate in incident investigations and post-mortems
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems
- Expert in building highly scalable, secure, efficient, and resilient operation environments
- Experienced with Kubernetes and Docker
- Experienced in service monitoring (ex: Prometheus)
- Experienced with PostgreSQL
Bonus skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure
- Experience with GitHub Actions
- Experience with multiple CDNs
- Experience with Elixir/Phoenix
- Experience working at a startup or working on small teams
