Job Description
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our software engineering team. The Tovala software engineering team supports all aspects of our business: both our consumer facing applications and our internal tools that help run our food operations. We have a fully cloud-based infrastructure powering our platform services, web and mobile applications. We have a driven and passionate team that makes products people want. Tovala is a fast growing company and our software engineering team will be expanding significantly in the coming year.
The main function of this role will be to build, guide, and support core software development practices and infrastructure aligned to DevOps principles. The Senior DevOps Engineer will be empowered to mentor engineering team members, shape processes and procedures, and build solutions that enhance the Tovala SDLC. The person in this role will have a significant impact across our business.
About the role
This role will build automated build and release pipelines aligned to widely accepted CI/CD principles
This role will utilize code to manage and provision AWS-based infrastructure
This role will implement tools and workflows that enable all levels of software test automation
This role will participate in building and maintaining secure solutions aligned to company cybersecurity policy
About you:
You understand the principles of DevOps and have experience putting them into practice
You are motivated by meeting customer needs and put that into your solutions from the start
You look to automate any task so that it can be run repeatedly and reliably
You don’t lose sight of the end-to-end needs of your solution and only build what is necessary

You understand agility and champion agile practices at the team level

You are able to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively
You love food, whether that means cooking it, eating it, frequently pressing your nose against deli windows, or lusting after soft-serve on Instagram – all fair game
Requirements:
3+ years of dedicated DevOps experience
5+ years combined DevOps and software engineering experience
Experience implementing and maintaining AWS-based infrastructure and solutions
Experience maintaining Jenkins and defining Jenkins build jobs
Experience with Docker: Dockerfile creation and Docker image management
Experience with Terraform: configuration file creation and management
Experience with Linux OS: configuration and management via shell scripting
Strong communication skills
