About the Team:
- The engineering platform team is a remote-first team building the web platforms, data infrastructure, and developer APIs that shape how people understand and handle billions of dollars of insurance risk

On the engineering team, you will:
- Architect and build the data and analytics infrastructure that will power thousands of insurance policy portfolios and $100+ billion in gross premiums
- Have a direct influence on user experience by building and maintaining APIs that power our user-facing applications
- Democratize access to data within Ledger so that teams are able to collaborate efficiently and combine data in new and creative ways
- Write and maintain data schema and API documentation that is concise, easy to understand, and redefines the way developers think about insurance data
- Directly influence and introduce new engineering standards, tooling, and processes that help the team scale
About you:
Successful candidates will have the following attributes:
- 5+ years of experience as an engineer working on and building data infrastructure and ETL pipelines
- Experience with designing and maintaining complex data schemas and data mapping strategies
- Highly proficient in Python (e.g. Pandas, Jupyter or similar), SQL, and data wrangling tools
- Experience with databases and various storage solutions (e.g. Postgres, S3 or similar)
- Experience with data automation and ETL (e.g. Kubernetes, Terraform, and Airflow)
- Take pride and responsibility in delivering features or applications from end to end
- Give and receive meaningful and constructive feedback with your team
- Think holistically about systems and services and how the play a role in the bigger picture
- Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
- Are flexible and open minded when it comes to evolving processes and requirements
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a track record of cross-functional collaboration
- Are a self-starter and able to work with minimal help from your teammates
