You will work closely with our scientific end-users to design, architect, and deliver highly impactful solutions to pharmaceutical and biotech customers. As a Data Architect, you will work to understand scientists' and R&D needs, analyze their data environment, assist in the design and implementation of our solutions, and aid in integration with clients' data systems. This is a customer-facing, customer-centric role and requires deep understanding of data management with experience building, architecting, designing, and implementing highly distributed global cloud-based systems. You will be leverage AWS services to architect and develop containerized and/or serverless SaaS/PaaS solutions.

Translate scientific data workflows into a solution leveraging the Tetra Data Platform. Own, design, scope, and prototype solutions ranging from: Programmatically interrogate proprietary instrument output files. Data structure design using JSON schemas. Python-based parser development. Lab software (e.g. ELN/LIMS) integration via APIs. Data visualization in Python and/or BI tools. Interview customers to understand key scientific and business requirements. Work with customers to test and ensure a solution fulfills their requirements and solves their need. Real-time problem solving by quickly internalizing customer needs or feedback, synthesizing the results, and proposing solutions. Proactively communicate implementation progress and deliver demos to customer stakeholders Coordinate with product team to surface and prioritize needs.

Requirements

As a customer-facing data architect, your primary focus is on customer time to value. In order to enable this, you will need to understand the customer’s current workflow (including pain points and outcomes), be an expert in the Tetra Data Platform, and understand the technical boundaries of the tools we use. To cover this blend of skills, we expect a successful candidate to have the following experience:

3 years in life sciences R&D, whether at the bench, in bioinformatics, or lab IT. 3 years leveraging Python for scripting, automation, data analysis, data engineering, and/or data science. 3 years leveraging cloud technologies (Apache, AWS, Azure, etc.) for solution design and architecture. Experience leveraging program interfaces, including APIs or SDKs. Ability to quickly understand a highly technical product and effectively communicate with product management and engineering. Passionate about science and building solutions to make data more accessible to end-users Intellectually curious: unwavering drive to learn more every day.
