Senior Compute and Storage Engineer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compute & Storage Engineer to join out Digital Technology Group. The role can be based from our Singapore or Hong Kong office.
Role
You will be responsible for the implementation, operation and maintenance of secure and highly available technical systems within Compute & Storage.
The core responsibilities of the Engineer are as follows:
• Install, configure and maintain approved compute and storage systems.
• Support/mentor junior colleagues.
• Implement predetermined software or hardware changes to rectify any issues.
• Collect and maintain tracking and configuration documentation and plans.
• Administer, create and update access permissions and maintains user accounts for compute & storage systems as required.
• Maintain and assist in the development of compute and storage system baselines.
• Work across teams to ensure IT system upgrades and service pack deployments are implemented with minimal impact to production operation.
• Analyse data from monitoring activities and define comprehensive, system wide improvements.
• Actively monitors and publishes the availability plan discussing the ability of the IT infrastructure to meet the availability requirements of the business.
• Work with vendors and architects to understand their technology roadmaps
• Administer SAN, NAS and other Storage based systems as required.
• Executes capacity management for systems.
• Monitor ticketing queue and responds to service requests or incidents.
Requirements and skills
• Substaintial technical experience in a similar role, including, but not limited to – design, implementation, disaster recovery, security architecture and engineering
• NAS/SAN storage (NetApp & HP) and other storage related technologies
• Windows Server (2008 – 2016), Linux
• Hypervisors (VMWare and Hyper-V), virtual machines and cloud-based (AWS, Azure and GCP) server and storage technologies
• Datacentre management
• VDI Systems (Citrix and VMWare)
• Understanding of ITIL Service Principles
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
