(Senior) Backend Engineer

At Glocally, cloud computing is enabling us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and build highly scalable systems for the logistics of tomorrow. ​In order to continue this transformation, we are looking for a Backend Engineer with experience in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). You are expected to focus on the strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects in the cloud. ​Ideally, you are experienced in serverless, cloud-based technologies with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and the ability to customize them to help our infrastructure become more secure and efficient.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy infrastructure for large-scale web applications on AWS, including big data processing
• Improve the backend architecture and tech stack for performance, reliability, scalability, and security
• Consistently deliver high-quality software that meets and exceeds customer expectations and technical best practices
• Take responsibility for deploying and supporting changes throughout the process to prove they work well - and will continue to work well - in production.

You are eligible and willing to work in Munich, Germany.

Desired skills

• Knowledge of deploying and maintaining cloud infrastructures in AWS environments
• Experience working with and designing microservices and event-driven architectures on AWS
• Knowledge of writing REST APIs, unit testing, and architecture design
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (preferably MongoDB)
• Critical and self-organized thinker with a pragmatic approach to problems
• Ability to identify and resolve issues before they impact business productivity
• You know how to take responsibility for own your projects and products
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
