Union54 is a Y-Combinator backed fintech start-up operating in Africa with a geographically distributed team.
We're looking for senior back-end engineers who will be working on our TypeScript Serverless card issuing API.
Our entire architecture is based on an asynchronous event-driven serverless infrastructure, with business logic sitting in discrete Lambda functions and data sitting in DynamoDb and Athena. We’re passionate about our architecture and our engineers are advocates for this method of computing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background by education or bootcamp and experience in the serverless ecosystem, ideally for a fintech start-up.
Requirements
Technical prerequisites:
- 2+ years experience with Serverless Framework
- 3+ years experience with AWS CloudFormation, SQS, SNS, SES, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDb, Athena, CloudWatch
- 4+ years experience with Node / TypeScript
- 2+ years experience with Mocha / Chai / Sinon for unit testing
- 1+ years experience with SQL
General
- An understanding and ideally experience of the card payments industry
- Professional level written and verbal English
- Developing on OSX / Linux
- If a non-UK based employee, the ability to work as an independent contract that can invoice a UK company
