This is a shipping domain sales position.
The product requires you to understand the shipping operations between a charterer, a ship operator, and a ship agent. You have real experience in shipping operations in the port, liaising with the charterer’s ops, and with the ship agents (knowing very well what an agent is authorized to do and not) – though skills & knowledge are more important than the number of years in the job.
Responsibilities:
The challenge:
a) the product is not an established product, and is a continually developing product with tech-focused solutions element;
b) requiring the combined (sometimes contradicting) skills in Ops, Sales, and selling an Unclear product;
c) this salesperson has to sell to 3 groups of customers:
1) to the ship-agent, as a work tool for them;
2) to the ship-operator, as a tool to streamline their ops, and to connect to their charterer-customers;
3) to the charterer, as the real-time online access to timely info.
Requirements:
• Possess basic shipping domain knowledge with at least 3 years experience in shipping operations in the port, liaising with the charterer’s ops, and with the ship-agents
• You may be from a charterer’s ops office, or an operator’s ops office or an agent’s or even a shipbroker's ops
• Trainable in understanding the customer’s pain within and beyond the current solution
• Fast & flexible learner
