Job Summary
Ovipost seeks a Research Manager to set up experiments, collect data, and identify promising research projects to pursue. Projects may include research on feed formulation, fecundity, growth optimization, and the effects of environmental changes on insect production.
Requirements
- Degree in Entomology or Biology, or comparable field experience
- 2+ years of experience running lab experiments
- Skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Fast-paced - you move fast and make things happen. We are not focused on publishable research; our priority is on actionable results.
- Must be highly organized and proficient in working with online collaboration tools, such as Google Suite, Slack, and team wikis.
- Must be a team player who works well with people from diverse backgrounds. You will be conducting experiments on a production farm; your ability to collaborate with the farm team and design experiments that integrate with existing operations will be crucial to your success.
- Willingness to touch insects, handle dust and dirt, and become deeply familiar with insects and the farming process. - To design robust farm experiments, you must have a deep understanding of how the farm operates.
- Open to travel. Spending significant time on-site at each facility is critical for understanding how variables can change across our operation.
- Prior agricultural experience a major plus

Location and Salary
- Ovipost operates facilities in Canton, Mississippi and Labelle, Florida. You must live near one of these facilities or be willing to relocate.
- Salary and/or stock options will be commensurate with experience.
