Background:
GoGo helps older adults live independently longer in their homes. We do that through helping older adults manage their instrumental activities of daily living. We have tens of thousands of consumer clients, hundreds of which use benefits covered by the VA to get reimbursed for our service. We’d like to better understand this funding strategy and think through ways we can make the VA a funding source for more of our clients. This is a contract role, but that will likely lead to follow on work. It is not a salaried position.
Project:
Research the available sources of funding for veterans and the qualifications the VA requires from those benefits. Interview case managers at the VA for their opinion on how to make GoGo coverable by programs at the VA. Make a presentation on your research.
Make suggestions on how GoGo can change our service to qualify for specific VA funding.
Work with other team members here to design a user flow for veteran customers that helps make GoGo free for them.
As a result of your research, it may become obvious that the VA is a valuable source of referrals for GoGo. Research ways we may be able to spread the word about GoGo to different VA regional offices and who the right people would be at each office to work with. Present on your research. This could become the basis for a future project.
Success metrics:
A presentation that conclusively states whether or not GoGo is reimbursable by the VA and if not, why.
If it is, an implemented user flow for our veteran customers
A presentation on whether or not the VA could be a channel of consumer referrals for GoGo and if so, how.
