Perch is on a mission to make financial power available to all. Founded in 2019, Perch is a free credit service helping people get and build credit through recurring everyday payments and subscriptions. Through the app, users can easily link recurring payments to leverage unseen and uncounted payments that build their credit score over time. Our users come from many walks of life, young college students looking to get their first credit card to foreign nationals just now entering the US. 

Product at Perch

 

As a Product Manager at Perch you will be a foundational part of the Product Team where you will work closely with our designers, engineers, operations team, customer success team, and incoming product managers to deliver seamless intuitive experiences to Perch users. You’ll report to the Director of Product and operate as a fast-moving product leader who is an expert of the owned product(s) end to end.

The product team at Perch is obsessed with bringing financial power to all. We are data driven and use first hand feedback from customers, business partners, and product partners to ensure that our products serve the needs of our users.

Product Manager, User Lifecycle and Scoring

 

As a Perch PM, you will be the domain expert of one or more Perch products. You will be responsible for everything including the ideation, definition, planning, messaging, execution, delivery, observability, scaling, and termination of various features to keep the product growing. You will be responsible for reviewing all new experiences before they launch and helping connect the dots visually and functionally between your product and other functions of Perch app. You will work closely with engineering, design, frontend, infrastructure, customer success, and marketing. When there is ambiguity, you will be the generalist that creates order.

This role requires the incoming product manager to wear multiple hats while fully owning two distinct parts of the Perch ecosystem, with the potential the to expand into other areas.

User Lifecycle

The User Lifecycle role encompasses the Perch user's journey from start to end, including onboarding, management, and servicing. This role has a dedicated team which handles user data management and maintains a custom internal tool that is used by our customer success team.

Scoring

The Scoring role ensures that our users have a way of accessing free credit scores and financial progress is meaningfully measured. As product owner you will need to think about the best way to gather and present financial progress to your stakeholders (both internal and external). This product does not have a dedicated engineering team yet, and will require collaboration with engineering leaders.

What You'll Do:

  • Establish and guide the roadmap and full stack experiences in your product area(s). 
  • Establish product requirements, goals, performance indicators, and milestones and work in partnership with other teams to deliver on your roadmap.
  • Lead KPIs, set metrics, and keep high visibility of progress.
  • Lead regular team meetings, including stands, retros, sprint plannings, and more.
  • Partner with research, content, design, and marketing teams on developing go-to-market strategies, refining messaging, and ensuring success of the product.
  • Work with existing and new product partners to deliver greater value to our users.
  • Analyze and share user data with the entire Perch team to track impact over time.
  • Help build analytical tooling to bring visibility and awareness to the Perch team.
  • Since we’re a small team your role has room to expand into other products/features.

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Management role, preferably in Fintech
  • Experience at a tech startup or similar fast-paced organization
  • Experience building a product roadmap and working with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver measurable impact
  • Ability to analyze, quantify, and articulate trade-offs of product roadmap features  
  • Analytical experience, usage of Business Intelligence tools to drill down on insights and create solutions based on data-driven hypotheses
  • Bias toward data-driven decision making
  • Experience designing & building products that achieve financial and business objectives 
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills to project partners
  • Deep attention to detail; desire to collaborate on new processes for efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set clear timelines, and deliver core responsibilities against deadlines 
  • Ability to pick up new complex projects quickly while maintaining existing responsibilities
  • Ability to quickly build consensus

Bonus Points

  • Experience in Payments or Consumer Financial Services
  • Strong plus if you used products that financially help our target audience
  • Based in San Francisco or able to commute / fly in from time to time (when Covid conditions get better)
