Fleetzero is hiring an experienced and creative Power Electronics Engineer to own the development and integration of our marine battery system with ship power systems. The Power Electronics Engineer will own the overall design and integration from DC battery power, through inverters, control and protection equipment, and VFDs to ship propulsion motors.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, modeling, specification, and testing of low to high voltage industrial electrical power systems and equipment
- Support the development and integration of energy storage products by providing expert knowledge of inverters, AC power, 3-phase power, power conversion, DC circuits, motors, power technology, and industrial control systems
- Source, select, and interface with vendors and service providers throughout the value chain
- Apply standard engineering knowledge, techniques, and formulae to create and interpret designs, calculations, drawings, sketches, documents of complex battery and power systems
- Perform technical review of designs and documents
- Develop and perform system tests and determine adjustments to newly installed or modified equipment and controls
