Get to know the Role:
The People Operations (Pops) Compliance Manager is an exciting new role that sits under the new People Experience team, whose mandate is to ensure that we scale our processes and employee experiences as we grow the company.
The role will focus on ensuring that we are compliant as an organization in 3 aspects: SOX, Internal audit and statutory compliance. This is an individual contributor role that will work cross-functionally with a number of stakeholders to drive compliance across processes, policies and systems. As a result, you will often be the face of Pops (People Operations) and seen as a respected advisor, a friendly face with a reputation for your passion in out serving our employees and managers.
The day-to-day activities
SOX Compliance:
Partner with the SOX team to ensure that all established controls are working
Conduct periodic audits to ensure controls are tested
Report and recommend remedial actions to any control failures
Track remediation actions
Internal Audit: Partner with our Internal audit team on:
Risk governance: Establish a governance forum within Pops attended by an appropriate group of leaders and mandated by a Terms of Reference that will regularly drive the appropriate risk governance for the function. Compile and regularly report appropriate Risk Metrics (e.g., incidents, outages, etc.) to the governance forum, in order for adequate supervision and oversight to be discharged.
Risk Advisory: Provide advisory to leaders within Pops where it relates to new activities and programs as well as, new/ change in processes and policies, from a risk perspective.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct periodic risk reviews of key processes within Pops to ensure that controls are adequately designed and implemented, and recommend remediation actions for gaps identified (including capturing higher risks self-identified Issues in the Issues Management Framework).
Risk Remediation: Provide support in the remediation of key incidents, and ensure that the proposed remediation actions adequately address the control gaps that led to these incidents.
Statutory compliance:
• Compile a calendar and framework for all Pops related statutory compliance in all our countries
• Work with internal stakeholders to track and ensure compliance with local laws and practices within all our entities and countries.
The Must-haves:
• Min 8 -10 years of experience in HR compliance or employment law
• Deep understanding of local labor laws and statutory compliance requirements in South East Asian countries
• An innovative thinker who can come up with creative solutions while ensuring compliance
• Ability to analyze data and drive decisions
• Strong project and change management skills
