Swayable is a fast-growing, cloud analytics product that measures public opinion and the impact of messages and advertising content on it. Its 30-person team is backed by top technology and social impact investors, including Y Combinator. Founded in 2018 by two physics PhDs, it is led by the former Executive Director for Digital Strategy at the New York Times. Clients include major consumer-facing brands (Airbnb, Square, Paramount Pictures, Amazon), researchers (MIT, Yale, Stanford) and mission-aligned advocacy campaigns (including multiple Democratic Presidential candidates).

JOB OVERVIEW

Swayable is hiring a Marketing Director - as an integral role of our growing marketing team - to co-lead efforts across brand building, content/product marketing, demand generation, community building, and overall marketing operations (lead gen / lead flow, paid media, events).

• Ideal candidates have experience running marketing operations and content creation efforts at similarly positioned companies (size and/or industry). 

• This position will report to the Head (VP) of Marketing , and will interact internally with sales, client, product, and executive teams — as well as key external contractors and partners. 

• LOCATION: New York, NY (Ideal) - but we are a remote-friendly team with optional in-person hubs in New York and San Francisco.  As NY Team / Office is built out, expectation is to be in the office 1-3x day/week to collaborate when key team members are available (VP Marketing, Marketing Team, Sales leadership, Marketing team, Design, CEO, etc)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE...

• Evangelize and articulate the unique value proposition of the Swayable Platform to direct clients, creative agencies, and media buying/planning agencies

• Strategize and develop content marketing efforts — across thought leadership, internal / industry data, and case studies — to support brand-building and sales enablement efforts

• Build brand and develop community through digital, social, and event strategies

• Partner with Product / Sales to lead and support product marketing efforts that increase understanding and engagement with our growing platform — increasing understanding, engagement, and renewal of existing / new features. 

• Manage, track, and optimize demand generation via CRM (Hubspot) - from lead gen to lead flow across the entire marketing funnel — providing quality workflow to support our Marketing and Sales efforts

ABOUT YOU

• 4-6+ years of marketing experience for consumer research, data or digital advertising technology companies — Startup experience a plus

• BA/BS or College Degree Preferred (Marketing/Communications Ideal)

• Demonstrated track record of delivering strategy and execution of tactics

• Exceptional communication, presentation and relationship building skills

• Excellent knowledge of marketing and research industry trends, technology platforms and pricing models

• Ability to think strategically, strong understanding of traditional and contemporary marketing dynamics, tactics and strategies

• Mastery / familiarity of: Collaboration Tools (Google Docs, Notion / Confluence, Slack, Airtable, etc), CRM (Hubspot, Salesforce), Design / Creative Resources (Adobe Suite, Keynote, Canva, Figma, etc), and Digital Media (Google / LinkedIn / Facebook, ABM). While not all tools are required - a comfort / willingness to learn quickly is expected. 

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to learn quickly

• Comfort with data-driven analysis, and quantitative reasoning - ability to convey complex concepts (our product, technology, and value proposition) in easy-to-understand terms

• Self-motivated and results oriented: Identify problems and create solutions with minimal guidance or hand-holding

• Ability to work autonomously - stay organized and show/track progress regularly to management

• Ability to work remotely - flexible to work hours sometimes spanning time zones to support clients and internal meetings

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in marketing to brands directly and media/creative agencies

• Experience project managing various elements of a marketing plan

• Effective communication (internally and externally): Point of view. - with “Strong beliefs, weakly held” (willing to learn, debate, and adapt).
