Forage is looking for a creative, metrics-oriented merchant success lead responsible for assisting merchants using Forage’s EBT processing service to drive awareness of availability of online EBT acceptance, earn customer trust, and engage and retain customers. This is a critical role to building adoption of EBT online for merchants of all sizes. This role will also be responsible for building partnerships across marketing verticals to create a rich environment into which merchants can be introduced. The ideal candidate thrives in an ambiguous environment where they must develop, implement, and iterate on business strategies to deliver growth and positive experience for merchants. This person has relentlessly high standards and operates as a business owner who understands key levers to achieve results. This role will drive the creation and execution of strategies to achieve business goals and collaborate across Forage’s sales, merchant operations, legal, and policy teams as well as leadership to explore innovative ways to identify and optimize growth levers for merchants. It will report to the Chief Business Officer. 

Key job responsibilities

Business Growth

  • Contribute to business strategy development and identify the correct input metrics that drive growth and improve the merchant experience, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Possess the ability to manage and deliver against complex goals where strategy is not defined. Able to make tradeoffs between short term needs and long term strategic investment.

  • Implement and track metrics to record the success and quality of merchants. Use these metrics to guide your work and uncover hidden areas of opportunity.

Relationship Management

  • Build and cultivate strong relationships with merchants and with internal stakeholders; be a trusted advisor and a business advocate.

Process Excellence

  • Use merchant and customer feedback, market growth trends, and key metrics to contribute to strategic development of features and programs that accelerate merchant growth and improve their experience working with Forage. Spot areas of unnecessary process or inefficiencies and work to simplify.

  • Identify, optimize, and scale improvements that can benefit a large set of merchants, e.g. driving efficiencies through tools and processes, simplifying SOPs, etc., working across multiple organizations. Develop mechanisms to create accountability.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years professional experience within Marketing, Customer Success Management, Account Management, Sales, Vendor Management, Business Development, E-Commerce, Retail, or Consulting.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in E-Commerce, Retail, Consulting, Payments and/or B2B 

  • Preferred Education: Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

  • Experience and expertise communicating/influencing senior business decision makers (C-level)

  • Effective strategy development with multiphase execution and delivery: planning, opportunity qualification and creation, stakeholder and executive communication, needs analysis, value engineering, services/partner engagement, opportunity management, and negotiation.
