About the Role
Swayable is looking for a Lead Software Developer in Test to ensure high-quality standards in our core product. In this role, you will lead the team that decides what measures up to be deployed at Swayable. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving our automated tools and techniques for testing each release. You will also work closely with a cross-functional team to build new features and solve novel problems across the spectrum of software engineering, data visualization, and science.
The Lead Software Developer in Test will report to our CTO, Valerie Coffman.
Responsibilities
- Define test strategies and standards to ensure product correctness and high quality for product releases
- Develop and execute test strategies for products in both test automation and manual test frameworks
- Act as a bridge between engineering and internal stakeholders to ensure representation for all with regard to the development process
- Spearhead quality initiatives with the view to influence product engineering into adopting industry-leading standards
- Analyze and diagnose root cause for issues seen in production
- Hire, manage and lead a team of QA engineers and analysts to conduct black box and white box testing
- Become an expert on Swayable’s products and technologies, proactively analyzing key risks and potential service degradations to the product
- Adopt the voice of the customer with regards to the Swayable Platform
Requirements
- BA/BS required Science/Engineering degree preferred, Masters/Ph.D. preferred
- 4-6+ years of test development/QA engineering for technology companies— Startup experience a plus
- Proficiency in coding/scripting in at least one programming language required
- Knowledge of industry-standard/industry-leading technologies and tools used for test
- Demonstrated track record of improving product quality
- Hands-on experience with the entire testing lifecycle– must be able to plan, develop, execute, and evaluate a test pass
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Highly detail-oriented
- Self-motivated and results-oriented: requires minimal supervision and direction to complete tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing remote employees strongly preferred
- Experience with Python and machine learning models preferred
- Experience with Javascript and creating automated tests in Cypress preferred
- Experience writing and implementing test automation frameworks for web development
- Experience with managing and hiring QA engineers
- Prior experience in advertising and marketing technology, or B2B SaaS preferred
- Passion for data and scientific analytic methods, willing to learn new technologies and methods of analysis
