Lead Product Designer

Product Tandem is a digital office for remote teams. You can see who's online, what app they're working in, and talk/screenshare/video in one click. You can sign up and try it out for free here.

We designed Tandem by deconstructing the affordances and benefits of a physical space, and transcribing them to a virtual space. You can hear more about our thinking on this podcast.

It's still early, but already thousands of companies around the world including Spotify, AirBnB, Dropbox, and Autodesk use Tandem for spontaneous conversation and extended collaboration.

Who you are: You are highly empathetic and passionate about helping others. You’re excited about building a strong design foundation within our team and can step into a leadership role. You're also eager to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to ship products and features based on user feedback.

You’ve been part of a high functioning product and design team and have deep experience in either UI, UX, or visual design, but skilled in more disciplines across product design.

What you'll do:

• Take high level product ideas from conception through execution, across web, and mobile. You're the main product designer so you'll get to work across various channels - product strategy, user research, and UX/UI design for example.
• Take joint ownership of metrics and strategy with the product side and work collaboratively with the engineering team to achieve goals.
• Think through complex interaction designs and systems thinking.
• Help grow the team and help create the design culture.
• Work with engineers, gather feedback from users and the team, and ensure strong implementation.

You should have:

• A passion for solving hard problems and want to help remote work actually work.
• 5+ years experience as a product designer across web and mobile.
• Mastery in design tools like Figma.
• The ability to make and drive decisions with limited info. We're a growing team developing an evolving product.
• A learning drive. The virtual office space is new and we need someone who is willing to learn with us.
• Strong communication skills.
• A care for company culture and how it develops. Company culture strengthens with the help of everyone.
• Skills in prototyping.
