We’re looking for a passionate & optimistic junior backend engineer to join our growing product team. As a backend developer, you will work closely with our product team to design, build, and maintain our backend services. You will be responsible for developing scalable and efficient APIs, integrating with third-party services, and optimizing our platform’s performance.
What we are looking for:
- A minimum of 2:1 degree in a STEM subject (preferably Computer Science) or comparable experience
- 0-2 years of experience as an engineer, preferably within an early stage startup!
- Working knowledge of Python, SQL and web development concepts
- Previous experience with AWS is great although not required
- An eager learner with a bias for action who loves a challenge
- Someone who enjoys working in-office
Your responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain scalable and efficient APIs
- Optimize database performance and ensure data consistency
- Collaborate with product team to understand requirements and provide technical solutions
- Continuously improve our DevOps processes
The tech stack you’ll be working with
- We are building on a modern tech-stack evolving every day as we incorporate new and existing technologies
- Our frontend is built in React, backend is built in Python (with FastAPI) and our infrastructure is managed with Terraform
