Head of Operations at The Essential
The Essential is looking for a Head of Operations to oversee distribution across multiple warehouses nationwide. The role will be primarily based in San Francisco, where our primary warehouse is located. We ship everything from frozen meals to produce to furniture so experience with distribution and warehouse management is a must. The Head of Operations will report to the CEO directly, and will work in concert with our other departments to ensure the best possible customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Drive efficiency to increase production, warehouse management, and shipping of products.
- Track operational output measures (order quality, productivity, costs and job efficiency).
- Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues.
- Work directly with Leadership Team to develop and implement key company initiatives.
- Educate and organize team members to achieve daily/weekly and monthly production goals.
- Optimize processes for picking/packing and shipping orders daily.
- Work with Leadership Team to identify equipment and facility changes necessary to advance capabilities and improve safety and efficiencies.
- Maintain and improve high product quality and sanitation standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee QA of orders daily as well as inbound shipments.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a warehouse carrying food products preferred
- Experience running a warehouse shipping roughly 10,000 orders per month
- Extremely organized and detailed oriented
- Experience shipping with UPS, USPS, and other carriers
- Experience with Shopify and ShipStation preferred
- Lives in the Bay Area, willing to work in our Distribution Center consistently
