We are looking for you as our Head of FP&A, Cost Control & Management Reporting. You will set up, maintain and drive an innovative and scalable global financial planning, cost controlling, and management reporting organization, helping us to implement modern and agile technologies and processes for planning, budgeting and controlling our global manufacturing, R&D and commercial operations, as well as our construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and growing our global FP&A, Cost Controlling and Management Reporting team in the SF Bay Area (CA), Monterrey (MEX), and future locations.
You will initially report directly to the CFO and collaborate closely with our existing Controlling and FP&A team members as well as with our Accounting team, led by the Corporate Controller (VP Accounting), and of course with the entire Production and R&D organization. In doing so, you will enjoy being a close partner to your stakeholders in building out our finance function to world-class. The position is highly diverse, working on multiple exciting and challenging projects worldwide, with many stakeholders inside Mighty Buildings.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Build and lead a motivated team, which creates insightful and transparent financial plans, budgets, analyses, and reports to drive growth and unit economics improvements Lead efficient budgeting and forecasting in a volatile environment Be a collaborative business partner to the executive management team and our department heads in further optimizing their efficiency Adopt a digital-first, automation-focused mindset for FP&A, reporting, and other finance processes Contribute to our monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closure Support our risk management, internal controls & corporate finance Together with the Corporate Controller be a key leader in the Finance-team and drive operational excellence across the Finance departments as well as with the company-internal stakeholders
Qualifications/ Requirements:
10+ years in controlling/management accounting for construction and/or manufacturing businesses Strong leadership and communication skills as well as experience in building, scaling and managing teams (we will invest further in your leadership skills) You have a real passion for FP&A, cost controlling and management reporting Significant experience in managing the Controlling function for a growth start-up in a production- and/or engineering-driven industry Solid knowledge of internal controls required in accounting and financial reporting in the U.S. (PCAOB and SOX-compliant ICFR) Excellent command of IT platforms, including standard ERP systems, digital production controlling, as well as modern BI and management reporting tools Preferably experience in global scaling of controlling/management accounting Degree with a focus in finance, accounting, or related field or a certified finance professional (CMA, CFC, CPA, CFA) Strong intellect and creativity, combined with excellent commercial and analytical skills You are a teamwork enthusiast and enjoy helping others do a better job Excellent English-language written and verbal communication skills (Spanish is a plus); extensive experience in an international business environment

Location: Flexible working arrangement. Should work from the office in SF Bay Area, CA, at least 3 days a week. Regular travel to our production in Monterrey, Mexico, and other future locations.
