As Head of Buyer Financial Services you will be in charge of defining R2’s vision and strategy for embedded Buyer Financial Services (starting with B2B BNPL + inventory financing). You will be expected to build the product from scratch alongside our Product, Engineering, Data & Risk, Finance & Capital Markets, Operations, and Compliance & Legal teams across various markets in Latin America. You will define a go-to-market strategy, accelerate R2’s partner and merchant pipeline, ensure lean integrations, and drive consistent growth and activation within each partner / merchant. You will build and lead your own Growth team (partnership success, business development, growth, marketing) and will ensure we are providing our partners with a world-class capital-as-a-service experience, deploying new financial services, improving conversion and controlling risk. You will get your hands dirty and work directly with R2’s founders and management team, reporting directly to R2’s Co-Founder and CEO, Roger Larach.
What you’ll work on
- Build the vision for embedded Buyer Financial Services (BNPL + inventory financing) within R2, including product vision, pricing strategy & unit economics, underwriting and distribution
- Create the embedded BNPL + inventory financing product from scratch by working with R2’s leadership team (Product, Engineering, Compliance & Legal, Data & Risk, Finance & Capital Markets, Operations)
- Build and lead a world-class Buyer Financial Services team consisting of business development (new partners), partnership success, growth, and product marketing
- Build a robust partner and merchant pipeline and accelerate conversion of partnerships from first touchpoint to launch
- Develop a data-driven approach towards our partnership pipeline (business development, integrations) and conversion efforts in each partnership (partnership success)
- Negotiate terms in key agreements and iterate constantly on pricing based on long-term strategy and unit economics
- Orchestrate cross-functional teams - from product and engineering to finance and compliance - to deliver on milestones and launch on time
- Ensure partnership success (partnership growth and renewals) by leading a Partnership Success team that is directly focused on integration & onboarding as well as partnership success efforts
- Propose iterations and build, alongside other areas, new financial services tailored for our partners’ buyers
- Own growth projections and unit economics across partnerships with the support of our Finance & Capital Markets and Credit Analytics teams
- Monitor risk across partnerships and work with Credit Analytics, Collections, Ops and Compliance & Legal teams to mitigate operational & credit risk
