We’re looking for a self-starter Head of Business Development based in New York to join tranch as the first full-time commercial hire. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely together to execute against the plan for phase 2.0 of growth.

Your role will span a variety of commercial functions - from business development to operations and marketing. You’ll work across the business to set high expectations for the team and then exceed them.

We’re looking for a strategic thinker who’s also a ruthless hustler.

tranch is how fast-growing businesses pay for software and services. We believe that fast growing companies should be able to deploy their hard earned equity capital on growing their business not on their operating expenses.

We are building a Buy Now Pay Later for B2B SaaS and Services, enabling them to get paid upfront while providing flexible payment terms to their customers. By transforming how SaaS and Services businesses get paid, we are creating a new category of B2B BNPL worth over 700 billion dollars.

We’re part of YC S22 and have secured over $5M in seed funding to scale tranch in both the US and UK. We have signed ‘Pay with tranch’ partnerships with global SaaS and service providers (from law firms to SOC2 compliance), including the addition of a ‘Pay with tranch’ checkout for hundreds of millions worth of invoices.

We are headquartered in London and have team members in both the UK and US.

What You'll Do

  • Build a sales and revenue machine - defining the strategy and playbook, and executing on it
  • Prospect (outbound), win and activate partnerships
  • Marketing (Messaging & Positioning, Demand Generation, Partnerships)
  • Create a feedback loop for product feedback into the roadmap
  • Define an organisational structure for tranch’s broader commercial function and hire a team (when the time is right)

What You'll Bring

  • 6+ years in fintech / SaaS sales, partnerships
  • Extreme ownership mentality with serious ambition
  • Proven ability to lead projects independently from conceptualization to completion, ideally in business development
  • Significant experience in relationship-building, generating revenue growth, and identifying new opportunities for commercialization
  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders internally and externally including product, marketing, and engineering teams

Bonus Points

  • A deep understanding and professional network in payments
  • Experience in commercial lending or fintech
  • Previous management experience - particularly in a startup environment where you’ve built a function
