The Company
Boundary Layer Technologies is building the future of zero emission maritime transport, starting with hydrofoiling electric passenger vessels. We are backed by Y Combinator, Fifty Years VC and Lower Carbon Capital and have built a world leading 26' fully electric hydrofoil prototype. We are a company of builders where rapid iterations and fast learning is in our DNA. We aim to reduce global GHG emissions by as much as 2.5%
We are looking for a guidance, navigation and controls engineer to own development and testing of the GNC systems on our hydrofoiling craft.
Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of flight control system for electric hydrofoil vehicles.
- Provide analysis and guidance to other teams on flight dynamics, vehicle loads, actuator loads and sizing.
- Develop a sensor suite and develop the filtering and state estimation algorithms Improve existing and develop the GNC workflow - simulations, hardware-in-the loop testing, integration, flight test, and post analysis for continual and efficient improvement.
- Improve our existing flight control software, sensors and state estimation on prototype hydrofoil craft Pamplemousse.
- Analysis of flight data and written and verbal communication of results Support testing activities
