At Factored Quality, we're building one of the last missing pieces of modern commerce infrastructure: a platform for consumer brands to manage their quality control inspections.

Factored was started by a team of software engineers, data scientists, and supply chain managers - all focused on one goal: enable entrepreneurs to bring their products to market faster, simpler, and cheaper. We worry about managing brands’ quality control so they don't have to. We aim to redefine how quality control is managed, and need strong engineers to make it happen.

At FQ, you’ll support every aspect of the business, developing a holistic understanding of our customers and product. We're looking for people who are passionate about creating the future of commerce enablement and building the tools needed to help people quit their day jobs to start new e-commerce businesses.

Our team is composed of 16 folks across our US and Hong Kong offices. We've raised more than $7.2 Million to date from an incredible team of investors and operators like Amity Ventures, Dynamo Ventures,Y-Combinator and Vinyl VC.

What we’re looking for:

Factored Quality is searching for a Full Stack Engineer to join the team. Our ideal candidate is someone who:

• Is a relationship builder, engineering strategist, and creative problem solver and leader
• Has a positive attitude, self motivated, coachable, go-getter drive with the ability to be autonomous
• Is driven by curiosity and has an interest in in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies to grow professionally, and also personally
• Strong interest in new feature development, research and bonus points for UX/UI design
• Strong user empathy and design sensibility
• Has 4+ years of designing and implementing scalable web applications and REST APIs
• Identifies bottlenecks and comes up with creative solutions
• Has B2B SaaS experience, manufacturing/distribution platform experience highly preferred
• Is based in the United States (EST region preferred)
• Has the ability to work US EST hours
• You do not need to have a background in Elixir but you must be willing to learn!

The Job:

We’re looking to bring on a Full Stack Engineer to help Factored Quality navigate it’s next stage of growth and responsible for all new feature development on our platform.

Core categories of responsibilities for this role will be to serve as point for:

• Writing clean self-documenting back-end code in Elixir/Phoenix, and front-end code in Typescript
• Experience working with SQL
• Experience writing unit tests and integration tests
• Developing and integrating with REST APIs
• Owning a feature from end-to-end (from DOM elements to database models)
• Being a product-oriented engineer who understands the critical balance between customers’ needs, time to delivery, and maintaining clean architecture/minimizing tech debt
• Able to perform code reviews
• Able to learn from and mentor fellow engineers

Working Hours:

Factored Quality is headquartered in NYC and operates primarily by 9am -5pm EST standard hours.

Because our team is global however, there are meetings that are occasionally meetings scheduled outside of traditional 9am -5pm EST working hours. That being said, we trust all team members to manage their schedules and to take appropriate measures to take care of themselves and their wellbeing.
