As an engineer on the team, you will help bring the Fibo vision to life. We're a small team that works closely together. You will interact with customers frequently, launch new features every week, and help to rapidly grow the business.
We're a fast moving engineering team building on top of a modern stack. Our stack allows us to build, launch and learn at a rapid speed, and reuse code across web and mobile.
Our Stack
- React native iOS and Android apps
- Microsoft Code Push for daily mobile deploys
- React based website for scheduling, reports, etc.
- Server-less backend with Firebase and AWS Lambda Functions
- Segment and Mixpanel based analytics infrastructure
Required Skills
- Strong CS background: BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
- Generalist: interest and ability to learn other coding languages and technologies as needed at any level of the stack, and be persistent in getting to the solution
- User oriented: passionate about solving a problems for our users, and understanding their needs through direct interaction and insights from the sales team
- Mobile first: excited by the potential of mobile technology to transform daily productivity for mobile teams
Career Path
We’re looking for someone senior to help us accelerate our product roadmap, and also help grow the team. This person will be a member of the core team and help us deliver a world-class product, while collaborating closely with all stakeholders (Customers, Sales, CEO, etc.). We're open to remote employees and potentially setting up remote offices.
General expectations:
- First month: get familiar with the code base, use cases and analytica. Ship something on mobile, web and backend cloud functions.
- First 3 months: become an active contributor to our code with weekly releases, and owning at least one important new fullstack feature
- First 12 months: contribute new ideas, and processes to help us remain user focussed and move fast. Build features that get wide adoption, and help shape the future direction of the team by implementing new engineering processes, making architecture/feature decisions and helping hire new teammates.
In 2018 our goal is to 10x sales/revenue, and double the size of the team. If we have a good year, we will raise a Series A in the subsequent year and try to 10x Sales and 2-3x the team again.
As the company grows there will be an opportunity to move into a lead role, and help scale the team. For remote employees, will also be opportunities for travel to SF and/or other locations for team offsites.

We build mobile and web software that allows field based SMBs to schedule work, invoice and get real-time financial insights. Many of our current customers do landscape maintenance and construction work. They use our product to deliver a better customer experience, save time, and grow their businesses.
As a broad category, field work contributes over $1T to the US GDP and still relies heavily on pen and paper. It is capital intensive work requiring up-front labor and materials cost. With Fibo, field teams can better manage both their operations and cash flow. With insights from our system we believe we can increase access to attractive growth and financing opportunities for most of our customers.

Product Background
Our product has extremely high engagement. For current customers, almost everyone at their companies uses the product multiple times a day.
Current product features include: scheduling w/ custom templates for real-time cost tracking, team messaging, location visualization, automated reports, client lists, invoicing and integrations.
We expect to expand on many of these in 2018 with mobile mobile and web features. We also plan to test lending and cash advances on invoices from within the product.
