Who we are: At Cash Flow Portal, we make it easy for real estate syndicators to raise money, streamline operations, and reach investors. We are a marketplace between real estate syndicators and passive investors - we want to make it the easiest place on earth to invest in real estate.
We at Cash Flow Portal strive to be the most accessible real estate syndication software in the market. In the last 1.5 years, we built a solid product, achieved product-market fit, and created a team of driven and like minded people all across the US. We are now looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our team to develop and manage features on our platform as we evolve.
We are engineering-driven (the founder was an engineering manager from Silicon Valley), are obsessed with talent density, and want to hire the best engineers possible who are also highly collaborative. We are also highly entrepreneurial and personal finance-minded. We believe that our employees will one day go on to create their own companies, invest in real estate, and want to grow their wealth and achieve financial independence in their own right.
Role overview: The Frontend Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying and supporting various frontend applications of our product. This position is instrumental in advancing the Cash Flow Portal platform and supporting our customer’s needs. They will work with peers on teams dedicated to different areas of the product to solve common goals.
Your responsibilities:
- Plan, build, and support both new and existing features and improvements to the product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
- Work closely with both product and engineering team to refine requirements and solve UI/UX challenges.
- Craft code that meets our internal standards for style - organized, testable, easy to maintain, and best practices for a high-scale web environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.
- Consistently ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Collaborate with the team on larger projects.
- Help improve the overall experience of our product through improving the quality of the frontend features both in your group and features that benefit other groups.
- Identify areas of improvements in the code base, both specific to your group and outside your group (eg. component library) and help contribute to make it better.
- Fix prioritized issues and address them in a timely manner.
- You’ll learn and collaborate with other Engineers – everyone can contribute something new to the team regardless of how long they’ve been in the industry.
Your Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working in similar roles
- A solid understanding in core web and browser concepts (eg. how the browser parses and constructs a web page)
- A solid understanding of semantic HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts
- Experience with React and/or another modern JavaScript web framework
- Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems
- Experience with writing automated tests (eg. Jest, Karma, Jasmine, Mocha, AVA, Tape)
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
- Comfortable working in a fully remote and largely asynchronous work environment, with a highly agile and intensely iterative software development process
- Positive and solution-oriented mindset
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with great organizational skills
Benefits & perks
- Competitive pay
- Flexible work schedule, with an unlimited vacation policy
- A kind, thoughtful team who cares about your well-being. We believe that's a true statement because most of our team is through a seed pool of employees who then refer their previous tech leads/co-workers to join us.
- Learn about real estate! For example, here is a brown bag with an introduction to real estate investing for techies.
Logistics
- This is a full-time, fully remote role, anywhere in North America.
- This position can be full-time W2 or contractor. We accept CPT, OPT, and OPT extension. We will also help you apply for H1B if you need. Visas are available for candidates who are already in the US at time of application.
