Capital providers gain access to an asset class that is highly diversified vs. most asset classes.  Insurance securitization has quickly grown to be a $100 billion market but is limited in scope due to opacity and complexity.  Ledger is expanding this market to $1 trillion by building a seamless data pipeline from the policyholder to the capital markets, enabling transparency, and bringing best-in-class analytics and real-time insights to the table.  Our recent $75 million Series B round of investment funding has set us up for exponential growth. About the Team:

• The engineering platform team is a remote-first team building the web platforms, data infrastructure, and developer APIs that shape how people understand and handle billions of dollars of insurance risk
• Engineers at Ledger have the opportunity to touch every part of the tech stack
• We collaborate frequently with product thinkers, designers, sales, and domain experts to carefully craft valuable customer experiences

On the engineering team, you will:

• Build and ship web based applications using modern tooling such as React, Tailwind, and Next.js
• Be independently responsible for the entire lifecycle of projects or features including technical design, development, and deployment
• Work closely with product, design, and other engineering leaders to make sure we are executing on our product roadmap and building towards our long term goals
• Own effective and timely delivery of projects that contain significant ambiguity, requiring well designed solutions, and are key investments in the overall team roadmap
• Participate in the design review process, seeking and providing constructive criticism
• Participate in recruiting and mentoring great talent
• Be responsible for estimating and managing project timelines and risk

About you:

Successful candidates will have the following attributes:

• 5+ years of experience as an engineer building dynamic frontends using modern web frameworks and technologies
• Experience with Typescript, React, Tailwind CSS
• Experience mentoring and taking an active part in helping make their peers and team better
• Provides technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact other teams or the company at large. Researches and proposes new technologies
• A strong understanding of frontend architecture and paradigms
• Experience building production frontend web experiences and leveraging the backend APIs that power them
• An effective communicator both verbally and in writing
• Lead by example with a bias for action and set the standard for engineering excellence
• The ability to thrive with a high level of autonomy and responsibility

Beneficial experiences:

• Experience with Next.js, Vercel, AWS
• Experience working in a scrappy, fast-moving tech environment
• Data visualization (e.g. D3, vx)
