Fleek is a set of funky individuals who find unity in diversity with the single mission of helping sustainability, promoting circular fashion while building a beautiful product experience.
Our 10 people team consists of ex-YC founders leading our engineering effort, ex-Uber & Doordash folks leading our operations and supply strategy. Alongside our Growth team is lead by folks who went to Cambridge, Oxford and UC Berkeley.
Business challenge
Fleek is a cross-border video commerce platform. As a founding designer your role is to identify key user flows that enhance the experience of using the platform. We have many key challenges that remain to be solved:
Building a video first experience. We have static videos as well as video commerce in-app. There is a lot of data that is captured in these videos. As a designer you need to think about a slick experience that makes it easy to transact in a new medium
Building for a global world with different languages. Because our buyers and suppliers often speak different languages; the designs need to consider translation & easy to use features. And needs to span text, audio and video as medium.
Supplier tools for managing inventory. A key challenge for Fleek is to accurately map supplier inventory so that it can be merchendized and sold easily. Given this industry is fairly offline the UI/UX challenge of an intuitive interface that works for the used clothing industry is yet to be devised.
We are excited for our founding designer to come in and solve these key problems.
Requirements
These are preferred but not necessary. If you find yourself especially drawn towards the role; please do not hesitate to reach out
- 5+ years of experience doing product design
- Ability to work in modern frameworks such as Figma for collaboration
- Experience working with engineering teams. At Fleek everyone is a Product Owner incl. engineers & designers.
- Prior experience in marketplaces or e-commerce is preferred
