About OneSchema
At every company, there's someone whose most painful job is wrangling CSV files in Excel. OneSchema (oneschema.co) makes cleanup of messy CSVs 10x faster (demo). Our product is a smart spreadsheet that makes data cleansing as simple as a few clicks. Our vision is to automate the “long tail of ETL” processes that today are painstaking, manual, and repetitive. We get our customers out of spreadsheets and back to the meaningful, creative work they love.
We are backed by top investors including General Catalyst, Sequoia Capital, and Y Combinator. And as a rapidly growing seed-stage company, every team member has the chance to have a major impact on our business. Compensation is competitive, and includes substantial equity ownership.
If you thrive when given a great degree of ownership and enjoy a trusting, casual, growth-minded environment alongside highly driven teammates, we’d love to speak with you!
About the role
OneSchema is seeking a founding Demand Generation Manager to join our growing GTM team. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to generate qualified leads and for our sales team.
This is a critical role to our team and we strongly prefer candidates who are able to come in-person to our office in San Francisco, CA at least 3 times per week. We will consider exceptions for extraordinary remote candidates.
Since this is our first marketing hire, much of the role will be focused on experimentation. The candidate will work closely with the CEO to refine our ideal customer profile and set a roadmap for experimenting with a range of demand generation channels (including PPC, SEM, content marketing, paid newsletter and podcast sponsorships, and outbound email). The ideal candidate has a depth of experience with paid lead generation, but has experience with a broad range of other channels.
What you’ll do
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Working closely with the CEO to develop and test hypotheses for scalably increasing lead volume and quality.
- Work with the sales team to refine our ideal customer profile and identify new opportunities for reaching prospects.
- Creating landing pages, emails, ad copy, and more.
- Experimenting with a broad range of channels, including PPC, SEM, content marketing, paid newsletter and podcast sponsorships, and outbound email.
- Analyzing and reporting on the effectiveness of demand generation campaigns and making recommendations for improvement
- Ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and within budget
- Marketing initiatives not directly related to demand generation, such as case studies and sales collateral
Who you are
The ideal candidate:
- You have 3-5 years of experience in SaaS demand generation. Even better if you’ve successfully scaled the demand generation function for a very early startup as a first/early marketing hire.
- You have expertise in at least one core demand generation channel, and familiarity with all of: PPC, SEM, content marketing, paid sponsorships, and outbound email.
- You’re scrappy, quantitative, approach to demand generation and ability to experiment and learn. You’re ready to drive results with channels you’re familiar with, and eager to learn how to leverage new channels.
- You have strong Salesforce, Excel and analytics skills: You know your way around Google Analytics, Salesforce, and other reporting tools, and can build the reports you need to measure performance. You’re not using guesswork to decide what’s working, you’re looking at the data. You can clearly report back to leadership what’s working and why.
- You have an ownership mentality and hunger to drive exceptional results, fast. You spend your free time brainstorming new experiments and can’t wait to put them to the test.
- You’re detail oriented and love monitoring and tweaking your experiments daily until you figure out what’s working.
- You may not have a technical background, but you’re technically savvy enough to explain the value of a technical product to technical users.
- You’re self-motivated to always be sharpening your arsenal of demand generation skills, and you surround yourself with like-minded members of the demand generation community.
