Expo lets developers write React and JavaScript to create apps that work natively across the web, Android, and iOS. We are looking for a Developer Success Engineer to help us manage our open source tools and repositories, provide enterprise-level assistance to our customers, and make choosing Expo be one of the reasons for our customers’ success.
Responsibilities
As a Developer Success Engineer, you will:
- Diagnose customers’ technical issues with root cause analysis and resolve the issues by implementing fixes in Expo tooling when applicable or otherwise explaining how the developer can fix the issue in their own application code.
- Act as the primary relationship manager for enterprise customers, including helping existing and prospective teams understand how to use Expo tools and EAS in the way that helps them achieve their product goals.
- Distill developer feedback into suggestions for how to improve and prioritize work on the Expo platform and services. Work on these projects when well suited for your skills, experience, and goals.
- Assist in articulating and communicating technical issues to other engineers when they are better suited to work on them.
- Contribute to Expo SDK, CLI, and other tooling.
- Build and maintain systems to assist the Developer Success Engineering team in their various responsibilities.
- Work with partner developer tools organizations such as BugSnag, Realm, Sentry, and Stripe to provide first-class integrations.
- Craft documentation and learning materials.
- Help oversee GitHub issues, public forums, and Discord, and identify and empower community contributors.
- Run workshops and give presentations at conferences such as App.js Conf and meetups like React Native London.

Where We Can Hire
Most of the Expo team works during North American hours. In normal times, about half our team is remote and half our team works from our office in Palo Alto. Because of COVID-19, we're all working remotely right now and until further notice. We are hiring across the United States and Canada (both citizens and permanent residents). In a small number of cases, we may hire people in other countries who are able to work on a Pacific-time-zone schedule.
