Documentation Engineer - Part-Time, Remote

Job Description:

• Collaborate closely with our internal platform engineering team to create, update, and enhance technical documentation tailored for our developer users.

• Design and develop comprehensive sample codes and tutorials that align with our documentation to improve developer experience and platform adoption.

• Provide valuable feedback on our development tools and developer console, leveraging insights from a developer experience perspective to guide improvements and innovations.

• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and relevance of all technical content, working in tandem with engineering, product, and support teams.

• Support the continuous evolution of our documentation strategy, adapting materials to reflect updates in our platform and the needs of our developer community.

Note: This is NOT a "writing tech-blog posts" role. The document should aid the developer in reproducing the same result by following the tech document. Therefore, coding skills are mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in creating documentation for a technical/engineering audience.
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality API, SDK, or software documentation, with experience in coding.
• Proficiency in interpreting and documenting example code, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear, concise language.
• Experience with source control tools for content management and publishing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A degree in Computer Science, English, Technical Communication, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with ERP platforms, web development, or software development tools.
• Knowledge of or experience with developer tools and consoles, and a strong understanding of the developer experience.
• Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working remotely and communicating effectively with teams across different time zones.

Hourly fee by professional technical documentation experience:

• Non Technical (cannot code yourself):
  • 2~5 years: $30
  • 5~7 years: $50
  • 7+ years: $70
• Technical (can code yourself):
  • 2~5 years: $60
  • 5~7 years: $100
  • 7+ years: $140
