About the Role:
The mission of the Director of People is to enable Rose Rocket's successful growth. This includes a focus on ensuring a healthy culture through programs and practices established by the People team. The Director of People also plays a key role in building diverse teams across Rose Rocket. They are a thought leader in establishing programs and practices that build culture, develop employees, and attract and retain the best talent.
This role also partners with the leaders across the company to help them build and develop their teams, make effective people-related decisions based on data, and establish strong communication channels across our team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work with Leadership and the People and Culture Team to build upon and execute the long-term strategy for the People and Culture function, emphasizing engagement, hiring, and retention
- Help maintain our core values and ensure that all People and Culture decisions, programs, and processes are aligned with our culture and core values
- Lead the Talent Acquisition Team to recruit top talent for the company aligned with workforce plans and objectives
- Lead the People and Culture team, ensuring that they are highly engaged, building towards our long-term strategy, efficient, executing on goals, and within budget
- Execute company-wide performance management programs that encourage a high-performance culture and drive continuous, transparent feedback
- Build scalable learning and development programs that help grow our team's capabilities, support retention, and prepare high-potential employees for management roles
- Partner with leaders to understand and anticipate hiring and development needs
- Prepare workforce plans and organizational designs that support business goals
- Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, state, and local laws and employment regulations
- Collaborate with external legal counsel regarding employment matters and compliance with regulations
- Prepare, analyze, and report on Culture, People and Talent Acquisitions metrics that support effective planning and decision making
What you bring to the team
- 6+ years of Human Resources/People/Talent work experience
- 3+ years of experience leading and managing a People/HR/Talent team at a high-growth technology company
- Proven success in delivering high-impact, values-aligned programs around performance management, compensation, team engagement, retention, culture, and talent acquisition
- Experience building talent acquisition programs and processes
- Outstanding EQ, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Canadian employment legislation, HR policies, and best practices
- Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting equitable and inclusive practices in all phases of work
- Proven success driving change within management teams across high-growth startup organizations, aligning people strategy with values and goals
