About Fuzzbuzz

We’re building the next generation of computer-assisted software development tools. Fuzzbuzz is a fuzzing as a service platform that integrates into CI systems and modern software dev workflows. Fuzzing is a type of automated testing that generates and runs thousands of inputs per second on your code to try and find bugs and security vulnerabilities. It uses code coverage and other signals from your code to guide the tests it generates and runs. You can read more here.

The Role

As Fuzzbuzz’s first Developer Advocate, you’ll be working very closely with the CEO/CTO to bring an amazing developer experience to our users. Primarily, your goal will be to raise awareness of fuzz testing and Fuzzbuzz in various developer communities through written content (technical blog posts, etc), video content, documentation & tutorials, speaking at conferences, building/growing a community, etc. You will have a chance to wear many hats and have complete autonomy over the work you do.

We’re currently a team of 8, split between office (Redwood City, CA) and remote, so we are looking for a driven self-starter, excited about working on a small team who is passionate about security, and loves teaching developers how to become successful with new concepts.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Produce deeply technical, engaging content to attract/educate developers on security, fuzz testing and Fuzzbuzz including: blog posts, documentation, tutorials, newsletters, videos
• Be the voice of Fuzzbuzz for developers by engaging with them in various online communities, at events, meetups or conferences
• Build and manage the Fuzzbuzz community to enable developers to learn more about fuzzing/security and engage with likeminded developers
• Work with the founders to create new strategies to effectively communicate and engage developers
• Help drive product/marketing roadmap using insights gained from interacting with developers about their testing, security and fuzzing experience/pain points.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience or interest in writing technical content and engaging with developers either through a previous job, clubs, meetups, or other communities
• 2+ years of experience development experience (preferably in C, C++, Rust, Go, Python, JS)
• Passionate about security, DevSecOps, testing
• Interested in educating developers on new concepts
• Strong written technical communication

Bonus points:

• Experience with fuzz testing
• Published technical content (articles, blog posts, tutorials, videos, etc)
• Active in developer communities (DEV, Hackernews, Reddit, Twitter, GitHub, etc)
