Designer, Platform (Remote USA)
Design at Ledger
Sophisticated and elegant user experiences in the insurtech industry are rare. At Ledger, you not only have the opportunity to innovate on existing fintech patterns, but also introduce new paradigms to the space.
We’re looking for a technically adept and collaborative designer with innate product sense, impeccable craft, and great taste to help us take our products to the next level. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, PMs, and other stakeholders to define long-term and short-term tactics and bring new features to life from problem discovery to deployment.
As a Product Designer at Ledger you’ll have a large amount of agency and ownership over all facets of Ledger’s design output. Beyond product work, you’ll also help with extending our design system, and visual design and marketing (e.g. illustrations and branding).
In this role, you will...
-
Design the end-to-end experience across the entire Ledger ecosystem. Partner with product, engineering, and sales to understand the needs of users throughout the insurance ecosystem, validate and iterate on solutions through sketches, wireframes or prototypes, and bring products from ideation to production.
-
Use and extend our design system. Delivering a consistent and cohesive experience to our users is key. You’ll help create flexible, extensibile patterns and evolve our design system as we scale.
-
Show ownership and self-direction. As a remote-first company, we rely on everyone being responsible, autonomous, and accountable for their work without anyone peering over their shoulder. We’re looking for people that thrive in ambiguity, can independently prioritize work based on user needs and business goals, and be accountable to drive products forward.
-
Help build a distinctive Ledger brand identity. Although your core focus will be on product design, you may work on an illustration, design a website or help design marketing materials. Through it all we want to build a strong, unique, and distinctive brand that stands out from the crowd.
You’ll be a great fit if...
-
You have 3+ years of work experience in user experience/user interface (UX/UI) Design. As a small but growing team, we’re looking for people who have experience working cross-functionally and have successfully owned and driven products or features through the entire product design cycle.
-
You are proficient in relevant design software (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Illustrator, XD, Photoshop, etc) and are able to pick up new tools quickly. Experience with Figma is a plus.
-
You are highly effective and excel at design craft. We’re looking for a designer who moves quickly, while upholding high standards for design and product quality.
-
You are a great communicator. Given that Ledger is remote, a lot of our interactions occur asynchronously. We’re looking for people who possess strong verbal and written communication skills and can articulate product design processes and decisions to the broader team.
-
You are excited about tackling hard problems with many tradeoffs. We’re looking to build thoughtful, intentional and user-focused experiences that balance complexity with clarity. To succeed, we need someone excited to dig deep and arrive at the right solutions through constant iteration and tight feedback loops.
