Position Summary:
We’re looking for an experienced data engineer who wants to work on developing, improving, maintaining and using our data pipeline to serve our customers. This position is an opportunity to make a huge impact on how we serve customers and make a difference in the world. You will report directly to the Chief Data Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write python code to do exploratory data analysis (EDA) on CSVs of radiology reports
- Verifying outputs from Segmed CLI processing to meet our data requirements
- Interface with PACs servers to explore dicom data
- Write clean and efficient SQL procedure
- Work closely with our customer team to serve customers with their specific needs
- Write specifications for new data pipelines
- Other ad hoc responsibilities to support the company’s objectives, as required in this fast-paced startup
- Travel at Segmed’s expense for fun company-wide team offsites once the pandemic is over!
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ yrs of experience in Python, Pandas, Scikit learn, SQL
- 2+ yrs of experience in data pipeline & data engineering
- Ability to work efficiently in a remote environment (Slack, JIRA, GitLab)
- Superior attention to detail
- Excellent communicator, both interpersonal and written
- Well organized and able to juggle many projects at once
- People skills - you must be a team player and get to know the wider Segmed team
Extras
- A deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques and their mathematical underpinning, such as classification, clustering, optimization, deep neural network and natural language processing
- Experience in data engineering & data modeling (Hive, Presto, Spark preferred)
- Understand healthcare ecosystems and medical and research partnerships
- Knowledge of HIPAA and GDPR regulations
- Knowledge of radiologic imaging modalities, understanding technical imaging requirements (such as CT and MRI acquisition protocols)
- Healthcare industry knowledge/experience
