About the role
This is a first hire for a content department and this role will work with the Head of Growth and CEO to drive increased awareness and adoption of the Runway platform. The main focus of the role will be to continually publish and spearhead Runway’s thought leadership on various topics related to mobile development through blog posts, whitepapers, case studies and more. Specific expectations for the role:
- Work cross-functionally within Runway to help develop content strategy, editorial opportunities and calendar for publication
- Lead content development including research, briefs, writing and editing - assuming ownership for timely delivery
- Build and execute on a playbook for effectively distributing content across online channels and target communities
- Identify, experiment and engage with new distribution channels and formats for content, both online and offline
- Ensure that content strategy is informed by site performance analysis, SEO and audience insights to continuously optimize results
- Support sales and marketing with a range of content types that add value to the customer journey, onboarding and retention
About you
You are first and foremost an excellent writer and communicator, capable of producing high quality content week in and week out.
You have 2+ years of relevant experience writing content for engineering-minded audiences.
You enjoy a collaborative writing process and don’t have a problem asking for help or receiving feedback.
You enjoy working in a developer-driven environment where you are challenged to write about new concepts in a human way.
You are a self-starter, resourceful, and capable of a high level of execution on a remote-first team.
You are organized and thorough in how you work, and you understand that you are setting an example for a wider team.
What you can expect
By Month 1
- Familiarizing yourself with Runway’s mission, team, goals, customers, etc.
- Giving a hand in setting editorial calendar and priorities
- Hitting the ground running 1) get on the same page with editorial tone 2) writing 2 or 3 content pieces
- Helping with posting and distributing content online through various channels
By Month 3
- Owning and executing on our editorial calendar and deliver (1 piece/week)
- Analyzing and suggesting edits and iterations that can help us meet KPIs
- Participating in developing content / messaging around new feature launches
By Month 6
- Handling more resources in the content team
- Taking and leading initiatives that can add to our content playbook — editorial angles, repackaging / repurposing, exploring with new channels and communities
- Taking on more cross-functional tasks within Runway, i.e. sales enablement
By 1 Year Managing content team Being a public resource and thought leader for Runway’s mission
