The inspiration for Slope came from Lawrence’s parents having spent the past three decades in the wholesale business, importing products and selling them to small businesses across Brazil. From having worked with them, we realized small mom-and-pop stores are limited by their working capital and that business loans are complicated to navigate.

At Slope (YC S21), we are building Buy Now, Pay Later for B2B businesses. We enable any business to pay with installments at checkout. Buy Now, Pay Later is the foundation to rebuilding the messy cross-border B2B payments infrastructure — our vision is to be Stripe for global B2B.

In a span of 7 months, we went from pre-product to processing over millions monthly transaction volume – growing 121% MoM. We're also well funded – raising a total of $32M to date from USV, monashees, Tiger Global, GFC, and the founders of Dropbox, Doordash, Plaid, Opendoor, Rappi, and Deel.

✅ What You’ll Do

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial generalist to work closely with the founders on high impact projects — setting up the initial processes and structure to solve ambiguous problems and then helping hire the right people to take over. You’ll be in the front lines of Slope’s highest priority initiatives and you’ll be helping expand the capabilities of our founders. It’s an intense role that involves a constant learning curve.

Potential projects you’ll help drive:

  • Building out our recruiting processes and improving the candidate experience.
  • Identify the biggest manual parts in our loan collections process and automate it.
  • Organizing our current knowledge base and setting up a buildable structure.
  • Implement processes to help create a more data-informed and metrics-oriented culture.

📈 Requirements

  • Be able to be in person at our San Francisco office (we’re not remote) and be willing to have an intense working schedule that matches the founders. We want to be upfront that this is not for someone that is looking for work-life balance.
  • Have high slope.
  • Able to navigate problems as a data-driven and first principles thinker with a high execution pace.
  • Able to work with ambiguity and be comfortable being thrown into roles / projects without guidelines and go from problem to shipped solution.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented.
  • 3+ years in industry – quantitative degrees preferred (CS, EECS, Data Science, etc.). We’re especially excited about previous / future founders and early startup employees. (This may even be the step you take before starting your own / another company.)
